Cranberry Orange Scones

Ingredients
2 cups Flour3 tablespoons Sugar (plus more for sprinkling on top)
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1⁄2 teaspoon Salt
1⁄4 cup Butter
1⁄2 cup Heavy Cream
1 whole Egg
1 cup Dried Cranberries
2 teaspoons Orange Zest (from 1 orange)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425ºF. Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Work butter into dry ingredients until butter is the size of small peas using a pastry blender or fork.
- Add cream and egg, mixing with your hands just until dry ingredients are moist. Add cranberries and orange zest until just combined.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and gather into a ball. Pat into a circle 3/4-inch thick; cut into 8 wedges. Place on cookie sheet. Sprinkle tops of each with sugar.
- Bake 12 minutes or until golden brown.
